How to Download and Install Network Inventory Advisor for Mac [NIA for Mac]

Network Inventory Advisor for Mac is the Mac version of our well-know Windows software. You can use NIA for Mac to scan any Mac OS network. You can get started with NIA for Mac by downloading our free version. The program requires Mac OS 10.6 or newer.

1. Go to network-inventory-advisor.com and click on the Download button in the upper-right corner. If you are on a Mac computer, it will automatically detect that and select the Macintosh version for you.
2. Select a location for the download file and click Save.
3. Once the download is complete, locate the file on your computer and double-click it. (Unless you change the name, the file will be called nia.dmg.)
4. When the window opens, click on the Network Inventory Advisor icon and drag it to the Applications folder icon. The  program will copy to that location.
5. Go to your Applications folder (or Launchpad) and double-click on the Network Inventory Advisor app. When it opens for the first time, it will warn you that you downloaded it from the Internet. Click Open to continue.
6. When the program opens, a box will pop up that tells you that you have the free 10-node version. Click “I’m OK with 10 nodes” to continue, or click “Enter Activation Code” if you have purchased additional nodes.
7. The installation process is complete.
